Remembering our friends
A good dog never dies, she always stays,
And walks besides you on crispy autumn days,
When frost is on the fields and when the year
Is ending and the winter is drawing near.
And when it's summer and when the bees are humming
She leaps ahead of you and awaits you coming,
And anytime you're lonely, look, you'll see
Her great eyes watching you solemnly,
Just call her in your heart, she'll cease her play
Her head within your hand in her old way.
